Ron Brooks Award to Wendell Harrison
SEMJA will give the 2024 Ron Brooks Award to Wendell Harrison.
Harrison has been a major 
pillar in the Detroit jazz community since the 1970s when he formed Tribe with Marcus Belgrave, Harold McKinney, and Phil Ranelin.
Harrison will receive the award from SEMJA on Sunday, February 25, at 4:00 p.m. at the Kerrytown Concert House. He will bring along a quartet with his wife Pamela Wise on piano. The complete make-up of the group will be announced in our December newsletter.
