Dave Sharp's Secret 7 in SEMJA / KCH Club Series

The SEMJA / KCH Club Series at Kerrytown Concert House kicks off the Fall season on Friday, October 28, with a performance by Dave Sharp's Secret Seven (at 8:00 p.m.). It will be a journey to New Orleans with the help of Sharp's outfit, which specializes in the intersection of jazz and world music. New Orleans is one of the most vibrant melting pots of musical influences from the Caribbean to Africa, including voo- doo traditions, appropri- ate for this Halloween concert. Sharp is a bass player who was mentored by veteran bassists Herbie Lewis and Marion Hayden in San Francisco and Detroit, respectively. The Secret "Seven" also include Chris Kaercher on tenor and soprano saxes, Tony Bucelli on trombone, and percussionists Eric "Chucho" Wilhelm and John Churchville.

The Club format at the Concert House features a nightclub atmosphere with table seating close to the stage and a bar. SEMJA vol- unteers will be there in full force. Please call 734-769-2999 to make a reservation. KCH is located at 415 North Fourth Avenue in the Kerrytown Market area.
