Around Town
Cuban-born pianist Manuel Valera treated us to an exuberant piano trio performance at Kerrytown Concert House on April 4. Valera’s trio is tightly knit with bassist Hans Glawischnig and drummer EJ Strickland. Each member is a highly accomplished instrumentalist and together they created some real gems. The trio played several selections from their newest album, The Seasons, from ballads to Latin cookers to the Beatles.
